Despite collecting all three points at the difficult start of the season, the England winger knows well that there is something to do with the goal of waiting 21 years for a league title.
“It wasn’t a great performance,” Saka admitted. “We are pleased with the three points that will leave Old Trafford with victory.
“We didn’t get to the usual standards, basics, sloppy giveaways. Our decisions weren’t big, and it cost us and gave United a lot of momentum.
“We weren’t punished for that, but we can’t play all the games.”
The Swedish striker painted some harsh criticisms after his exhibit, where he was unable to make much of an impact in front of the goal.
However, Saka was pleased with the way his new teammate began his Gunners career, focusing on the qualities he brought to Sunday despite not being able to find the net in his first game.
“I was impressed with him and he fought for us,” Saka said of the 27-year-old, who scored 97 goals in 102 matches for the Portuguese club.
“It was tough. There was a huge battle there.
“I thought he did well. His performance gives us something to build something, and I’m sure it will help him next week.
“He’s slotted a lot, so do other people.”
