Tottenham Hotspur could be set to crush its nearly 10-year transfer policy if it chooses to make Joa Pargigna’s movement permanent next summer. The Portuguese sense arrived in north London on loan from Bayern Munich earlier this month.
This is because the Spurs are trying to recover from inactivity during their Premier League season. The club came in a disastrous 17th place under Ange Postecoglou last season, but managed to end the club’s trophy drought by securing the Europa League title. After seven years of impressive stints at Brentford, Thomas Frank has replaced Postcoglo this summer, crossing London.
Along with securing permanent contracts for Mohamed Kudus, Matisse Tell and Kevin Danso, Frank will be given a lift on loan for the season with the arrival of Pargigna, and will have the option to buy it for £27 million next summer.
Fernando Lorente, the last outfielder over the age of 30, was a £12.1 million acquisition from Swansea in the summer of 2017, when the Spurs paid a transfer fee. Unfortunately, Llorente only scored two goals in the 36 Premier League, and scored two goals before being transported for free in 2019.
However, Parkhinya, a predominantly defensive midfielder, is not under pressure to score the same goal. Using an impressive resume that includes the Sporting CP, Fulham and Bayern spells, Palhinha arrived in North London, boasting many accolades, including the Primeira Liga title, the three Taca de Ligas, and Bundesliga Crown.
He also won 34 caps in Portugal and won national leagues earlier this year. Pargigna made the Spurs’ official debut against the newly declared Burnley at Home at Saturday’s Premier League opener, securing a comfortable 3-0 victory as a 80-minute replacement for Lucasbergval.
Richarisson began scoring for the Spurs just 10 minutes into the match, volleying a Kudus cross from the right of Martin Devravka. The Brazilian doubled the 15-minute tally in the second half, and once again connected with Kudus Cross with an epic overhead kick to celebrate the style.
Brennan Johnson sealed the contract six minutes later, with Pipe Mathal Saar providing the assist. Despite his creepy at Spurs camp, Frank is fully aware of the difficult task his team will face as he travels to Etihad Stadium next week to face Manchester Cityside.
The Pep Guardiola city rose to the top of the Premier League after a 4-0 victory over Wolves at Molyneux on Saturday evening.
