Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch revealed that joining the Reds stopped him from being “crazy.”
The 23-year-old Dutch International has admitted that he began to mentally fall off the rails after his dream move for Bayern Munich turned into a nightmare under coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Greygun Burch’s father believes that his son is close to depression before he is rescued from the devil after a £34 million move to Anfield two years ago.
The midfielder had a great campaign under Arne Slot last season as Liverpool crowned the Premier League champion. And now he only lifted the lid of the year from hell and saw him start three Bundesliga games after joining Ajax’s Bayern.

Gravenberch said: “I was hooked in my head. I was lucky that my parents moved to Munich for me. I don’t know what would have happened if I were there myself.
“I was pleased that we were champions, but my contribution was small. I know we were standing there as champions, but I didn’t feel like a champion at all.
“Under Nagelsmann, I will be playing three games in a row, looking at the team for 90 minutes, when I started to get hooked in my head, and it was completely over in the winter.
“I remember how I felt in Bavaria, but I know that it managed to climb from that low, and that’s what I’m proud of.”
Grenbenberch’s father, also known as Ryan, believes that if he was alone in Munich, his son would have been left to fight depression. “I think if we hadn’t been with him, he would have landed in depression,” a senior at Glenbemberch told Dutch magazine Helden.
“When you say something like that as a parent, people might think, ‘Oh, here’s another father who thinks his son is so wonderful.’ But the world of football is difficult – and people in that world have been told a lot about him, but people forgot that this was a 21 year old boy.
“The whole adventure in Bayern Munich didn’t go as well as he had expected. He worked really hard, but he wasn’t given the opportunity to shine.
“At the time, we couldn’t dream of him getting a move to Liverpool and Arneslot becoming his coach. When we see what happened to him in Slot and Liverpool, we have to be honest that he went from hell to heaven!”
