Crystal Palace, which was denied by unusual rules as Ebevech Eze Free Kick is banned against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge – “You live and die by Val”

Chris Richards said everyone at Stamford Bridge thought that before Ebechi Eze opened up the score for Chelsea’s Crystal Palace, the little-known rule was paid for his often-hit free kick.
Eze thought he had opened the palace score in 13 minutes. He thundered his free kick into the house.

The palace ran through celebrations, but the strike quickly received a VAR review.

Of the potential infringement, the barge of Guehi in Kayseko seemed obvious. However, after the review, it was determined that referee Darren England had ruled Eze’s strike.

“Everyone in the stadium thought that was the goal,” Palace defender Richards told Sky Sports. “But you are alive and dead by Val, and today we were then dead. It’s a good free kick and hopefully we can get more of them.”

As is the standard procedure in the current Premier League, England has announced a verdict for the Stamford Bridge crowd.

England said: “After review, when the shot is taken, it’s less than a metre from the wall. So it’s an indirect free kick and an unauthorized target.”

The decision was correct by the letter of law.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB) states in Law 13. “If three or more defensive team players form a ‘wall’, all attacking team players must remain at least 1 meter from the ‘wall’ until the ball plays. ”

Pushing into Kaiseko, Gehi ended up almost side by side with Joan Pedro on the wall before Eze hit the strike.

The decision sparked unprecedented measures by England when Chelsea was awarded a free kick at the same end at Stamford Bridge in the second half.

As the palace players formed their walls, England sprayed a meter-long line around them, clearly showing what constituted the infringement if Chelsea tried something similar.

For the palace, the unauthorized goal was another decision against them after a summer when they were caught up in the uncertain UEFA Europa League participation.

UEFA and the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) have determined that John Textal’s majority stake in Eagle Football Holdings has declared the palace to have violated the European multiclub ownership rules, with Oliver Glasner’s side dropping out of the Europa League and joining the UEFA Conference League, with Nottingham Forest appearing.

GLANSER: I spoke to them more than my wife or children.

Another uncertainty during the Palace’s summer – especially the recent weeks – is the future of Guehi and Eze, with reports that the latter approaching a potential move towards Tottenham Hotspur.
Speaking to the BBC match the day after the Stamford Bridge stalled, Glasner said he repeatedly committed to the pair’s club and communicated regularly with them amid growing speculation.

When asked if Eze and Guech were considering leaving the team, Glasner said, “Not at all. EBS and Mark, there was a lot of noise about these two players last week.

“As long as they’re 100% committed, they play because they’re so good. I watched them all week in training, and I talked with them almost every day.

“They didn’t just show that they were great footballers, but they were great people, and that’s what I expected.”

The Palace will return to action on Thursday and enter the fourth round of conference league qualifying against Norwegian side Fredrikstad.
