Manchester United have completed the signature of Benjamin Sexo, and fellow new employees Brian Mbemo and Matthews Cunya understand why the strikers join the club
Manchester United’s new signature proves that joining the club for the Red Devils legacy remains a dream move. Reuben Amorim’s side has brought three highly rated advances this summer despite the prospects for a year without European football.
United may have been worried about the remaining pull power in the transfer market after finishing 15th in the Premier League and losing to the Europa League final last season. It was not an ideal sales pitch for top players to convince Amorim’s team. This combines with the financial implications of missing out on Tottenham Hotspur at a Champions League spot.
However, in their latest transfer coup, the Red Devils defeated Newcastle United and signed striker Benjamin Sesco. New arrivals, Maceus Cunya and Brian Mbemo, who were also wanted by Magpies, have already explained why the trio are turning their minds towards Old Trafford.

When it comes to United’s first summer signing, Cunha said: “It’s hard to grasp my feelings about becoming a Manchester United player. Since I was a Brazilian kid watching Premier League matches on TV at my grandmother’s house, United has been my favorite English team and I have dreamed of wearing a red shirt.
Reflecting Cunha’s message, Mbeumo described him as a fan of Young United, showing the club’s enduring appeal.
Sir Alex Ferguson may have retired more than a decade ago, but even Sesko, the club’s glory day is still alive in memory. “Manchester United history is clearly very special, but what really excites me is the future,” Striker said. “When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything was in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies right away.”
United’s ability to secure trades at its top target is in stark contrast to what Newcastle endured this summer. Several forwards, including Mbeumo and Sesko, chose other clubs for Eddie Howe’s side despite the club winning the trophy and playing in the first half of the Champions League. Their hard work to sign the striker added another layer to the forwarding saga of Alexander Isaac.
Meanwhile, United boss Amorim is pleased to assemble a line of advancement for his new outlook. Following the struggle between Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, Red Devils are in urgent need for a centre forward, and Amorim believes Sesko is the right person to lead the line.
“He has the characteristics we needed,” Amorim told MUTV. “Ben is a player – he has all the information we have – we don’t oppose it, it means that we need to stop men from working!
“That’s important too. He’s really young. He’s good in the air. He’s good at running channels and he’s good at ball. I think he has great potential.
However, United have not finished rebuilding the summer. Brighton midfielder Carlos Valleva is valued at around £100 million, but has emerged as the club’s next goal as United will revise another area of the team.
The Red Devils returned club icon David De Gere to Old Trafford during their final preseason fixture on Saturday. United tied Fiorentina 1-1 as Amorim continued to prepare their team ahead of the season opener against Arsenal next Sunday.
