Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has revealed that he may make another bid to change Alexander Isaac’s stance. The Swedish striker has not been featured since last season due to the competitive action magpie.
Understood Isaac has been counseled to hold the company for the switch to Liverpool, and will have to wait to see if Red will return to the negotiation table with a new offer to sign him. Despite his suspicious behavior, Hau refuses to close Isaac’s doors completely and insists he wants to go to Newcastle again.
Speaking to his press conference before the Aston Villa clash, Howe asked if there was still a route back to the team, “Yes, I believe it’s there.”
“But of course, there must be discussions and consultations for that to happen, but again, that is another day.
“Today is Aston Villa and we are ensuring we perform as much as possible. I understand why your questions are filled with that subject, but at this point it’s really useless.”
Hau also suggested that Isaac’s fate was essentially in his own grasp, and he continued if the former Borussia Dortmund star appeared before the windows closed.
As we enter the new season, it is very clear that Hau wants to bring Isaac back to the fold. He states:
“I and Alex enjoy a great relationship and I don’t think he did anything without it and without the support of his teammates and supporters, the entire football club.
“He knows that, too, he is a very intelligent person and knows that he would not succeed here without anybody with Newcastle.
“This is another moment for him and us, and we’re working together.”
