Arne Slot suggests that Federico Chiesa can still have a bright future in Liverpool to help Italians push for the Maiden Premier League strike to net and win over Bournemouth. The Winger regained the advantages of the Premier League champions in the second half of the proceedings with Cherry, as they began the title defense with a 4-2 victory.
Chiesa has been repeatedly linked to the switch to Italy through the summer window, enduring difficulties during her debut campaign in the UK. He was featured in 14 games during his first season and was handed over to start the berth in just four innings.
The 27-year-old was actually his third Premier League outing at Anfield – only his first Premier League since January when he got caught up in the action against Bournemouth.
However, despite his limited influence during his lifetime in Liverpool’s tenure so far, the attacker has become one of the most loved people in KOP, the supporters played in the melody of his chant – “Swaying”.
And Slot was excited that Chiesa could pay back on a loyal strike and a loyal strike.
“As long as he’s here, it’s definitely in Liverpool and there’s no reason to believe it will change,” he declared the outlook for Italian International.
“He struggled to prepare fitness last season and unfortunately he missed the Asian Tour and Joe Gomez alike.
“I ended up losing Connor Bradley, so all of my replacements involved players who couldn’t make it for 90 minutes.
“You need No. 9, 2-2. I brought him in and he delivered. It’s always positive for your future at the club.
“Fans sang for him many times last season, and I’m very happy he gives something in return.
“That’s hard for me to tell you (why did the supporters take Chiesa well). I’m a fan, but I’m not standing in the KOP and I’ve never come up with these songs.
“The only thing I can think of is that Federico had a great history and was a big player deciding to go from Italy to England, but I don’t see that much.
“I don’t know, it’s probably a good song to sing, but it probably won’t give him the credit he deserves.”
