Alexander Isaac has pushed him to quit Newcastle and sign Liverpool, but so far Eddie Howe has played hardball and hasn’t easily said goodbye to the star striker
Alexander Isaac has “poorly” handled his transfer situation, but Newcastle boss Eddie Howe might be forced to sell him for his team. That’s the view of allied McCoist, a former Scotland and Rangers frontman who hasn’t been impressed with Isaac’s actions this summer.
The Swedish hitman is trying to force a move to Liverpool and says he wants Magpie Top Brass from St James Park. While in the Far East for preseason training, 25-year-old Isaac headed to Spain for training without informing Hau as he recovered from thigh tension.
McCoist said:
“You can’t sign a contract with the intention of doing well. You throw away your toys and demand a move. You can’t do that. Once you sign the contract, you’ll see them say, “I’ve been here for three years, four years and I’ll respect that contract.
“You sign because you’re happy with it. I think he’s poor. You can’t act that way.

Liverpool has failed with ISAK’s £110 million bid as they are trying to bolster their offense this summer. The Reds are not ready to make their second bid until they receive encouragement from Newcastle that they are willing to negotiate.
Hau was trying to bring in a potential replacement for Isaac, but failed to sign Benjamin Sesco, who ended up at Manchester United. TNT Sports Pundit McCoist feels that Howe needs to make the team better if it could be a problem if Isak stays.
He states: “Eddie has to show strength, but the most important thing he has to do the right thing for his team and club. Leadership might be like, “Go right, come back to this team to suit yourself,” but that may not be the best for Newcastle.

“You might say he wasn’t strong enough, but what he actually does might be the best for Newcastle, and Eddie might say to the owner.
“He might say, ‘I’m not going to say this publicly, but I don’t want him to go back to the dressing room because he causes problems for me.’ We don’t know how Eddie thinks.
“He has to do what’s best for the team and club going forward. It may be accepting £20 million. But I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t think Isak handled it well.”
