Gary Rinker and Alan Shearer agree to the Arsenal title chance as two key points raised

Gary Reinker and Alan Shearer believe Arsenal will be shorter again in the title race, predicting another season of frustration on the part of Mikel Arteta. Gunner finished runner-up for the third year in a row, but has now finished dealing with key areas of the team during the transfer period and waiting for the Premier League title.

New striker Viktor Gyokeres is the club’s most important summer signature after travelling from Sports CP. Throughout last season, the Gunners’ lack of recognized strikers was often highlighted as a reason why the club was behind their title rivals.

Martin Zubimendi is an important addition to midfield, but Arteta has also provided a well-balanced team with Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Noni Maduke. However, Lineker and Micah Richards believe Arsenal could be hampered in the title race for two reasons.

When asked about Arsenal’s remaining title chances, Richards recalled his thoughts last year. “It’s hard to say last season that Manchester City thought they’d have won if everyone stayed healthy.

“It’s huge to bring Gyoker right now for Arsenal, and it’s not just because he’s always moving forward. We’re always talking to strikers. Hebert is really good, we’re all big fans of Havertz, but we’re not leading the line in the number 10 position he can create.

“I know (Hubers) made really good moves when he plays there, but he doesn’t have a striker’s instinct, so I think Gyoker is going to add something really special.

“I still don’t know if it’s enough to cross the line yet. I don’t know yet. I think one or two injuries are back to the same as last season.

Despite working on the team’s depth, Richards doesn’t trust Arsenal’s title bid to survive the injuries of some of the key players. Premier League legend Alan Shearer also believes gunners will finish the upcoming season with a familiar feeling.

“I agree. I think they’ll try. I think they might run out again,” Shearer said. “I like all of their signatures, and I think that’s exactly what they need, and I don’t think they’re finished in terms of bringing players and certainly going outside.

“I definitely have them in the Champions League, but I haven’t seen them have enough to win the title. They’re just lacking.”

Meanwhile, Lineker pointed out to his colleagues that Arsenal would be short on the title race and that the club relies on Gyoker, who is immediately adapting to the Premier League, but the striker was impressed with his preseason victory at Bilbao recently. Gunners face difficult challenges to overcome reigning champion Liverpool, who made several famous moves over the summer.

Lineker admitted:

“A lot depends on how Gyoker does it, which means he scored a great goal in the preseason, but I know that preseason isn’t that important.

“So I think I’ll depend on him, but we know he can get good service. I think they can go nearby again, but I’m going to agree with both of you.”
