Eddie Howe, manager of Newcastle United, urged Alexander Isaac to provide “clearness” to his future. The conclusion of today’s match at Villa Park has caused fans to express their dissatisfaction with Swedish International.
It remains unclear whether the head coach implies that ISAK will either work on things or send a forwarding request, but the forward is informed that the door is still open.
Despite Liverpool’s continued interest in ISAK, they have not yet made their second offer. Newcastle is in complete uncertainty for the star, which it bought for £63 million in 2022.
Following the 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, Howe told Chronicle Live:
“We want to make a decision. When I say I’m referring to myself and the ownership, the players we have, we need that clarity. This season, Premier League season is hard enough.
“I certainly don’t control it. There’s only one person in control of it.”
Newcastle supporters were fully supportive of XI, who secured points against Unai Emery’s team, but were unable to hold back at the end of the match.
Discussing fan support, Howe said:
“They have never left our side in difficult moments at all times, so they were really proud of that connection between them and us at the end of the game.
“It’s always a beautiful moment for us when we thanked us for coming and thanked them for our performance. Our fingers crossed. It’s up to us to keep that relationship strong right now.”
Despite creating 16 opportunities, Newcastle failed to convert it into a goal. This is a situation in which Isaac’s presence can make a difference.
Hau commented:
“Of course, it’s not just his goal that you miss someone like Alex that scores a goal, but he’s the talent of the players. So, we’re not stupid enough to think that we’re different, but you need to talk about the players here today and the players they gave today.
“It’s very easy to be prepared for players to feel negative about entering the game and excuses there, but there was no sign of that in our performance.
“So I’m very pleased with everyone. It’s one of the 38 games in the Premier League season, so I don’t overreact either way, but today was really good.”
