They travel to St James Park to play Newcastle on their next fixture, and Gordon believes the Reds will be able to have a “wild” experience with the rumblings of the ramblings.
Speaking about TNT Sports after a draw with Villa on Saturday, he said: “The atmosphere is certainly going to be a little wilder. I’m excited to see home fans again and go back to the stadium and become a top game.”
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said before kickoff, Isaac’s situation had not changed.
“It’s no different to how it actually turned out for weeks,” Howe said. “He’s not here today. We don’t have him. We’re adapting to it and still competitive.”
Gordon was chosen to start as a lonely striker in Newcastle. Isaac continues to separate from the rest of the group.
“We believe in the team we chose today, and we believe in all the players on our team,” added Howe. “There were some distractions during the preseason, but it was all for me and not a player.”
When asked if he felt disappointed in Isaac’s situation, he replied: “I don’t think it’s time to discuss what we’re about to play the game. All my feelings are heading towards this game, making sure we’re competitive, ambitious and motivated.
“This is a difficult place to come if you’re down one or two percent. We have to be there mentally, including all our coaching staff today. There’s nothing but we want to do our best today.”
Newcastle is said to be valued ISAK at around £150 million, as Liverpool’s initial offer is quite short of that number. There’s plenty of time for the Reds to come back with an improved bid before the summer windows close.
