Allie McCoist got sick of after being booed at Wembley Stadium after a moment of silence in honor of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.

Liverpool is in Wembley for a community shield against FA Cup winner Crystal Palace since Jota tragically died in a car accident last month.

The Premier League champion retired from his No. 20 shirt and before Wembley fixture there were several tributes to commemorate the two Portuguese footballers, including a one-minute silence.

But to everyone’s surprise, we could hear boos being ejected from a small section of palace fans inside the stadium. That led to referee Chris Cabana finishing the tribute early.

Commentator Darren Fletcher responded quickly, and after the moment of silence ended, fans from both ends of the stadium responded to anger. He said: “Why are there more than me in the stadium on Earth who ruin the moment?” McCoist, who was clearly struggling, simply replied, “That’s against logic, that.”

Liverpool fans paid Jota’s own respect 20 minutes after the match and stood collectively and applauded the former wolf, Portuguese and Portuguese strikers.

At that exact moment, new signature Jeremie Frimpong scored the net to make the Reds’ first official goal 2-1. It came after Liverpool led another new arrival, the courtesy of Hugo Echicchique after just four minutes of play.

Arne Slot gave Jota his own respect before the match, telling the FA website:

“I can’t imagine the pain that Diogo’s family, his wife, children and friends are experiencing. The club will continue to give them all the support they have in the future.

“Diogo’s death had a huge impact on us all, but what was so important was the love and care shown by the world of football, especially the Liverpool FC community.

“I would also like to mention the strength and courage of the players here. I realized they were in one of the toughest positions I could imagine.

“But the way they came together and the way they do themselves on and off the pitch is a credit to them and this football club. We really wouldn’t have been able to ask the boys more. I’m very proud of them all.
