Peter Crouch is leaning Benjamin Sesco to make an immediate impact in the Premier League. Sesco arrived at Manchester United with a whopping £74 million from RB Leipzig, improving its £2 million offensive alongside Matthews Kuña and Brian Mbeumo.
The 22-year-old scored 21 goals in 45 appearances for Leipzig in the previous term, representing one of several thrilling new forwards in the division.
“My favorite of the golden boots is Alexander Isaac. If he sorts out the situation, there will be Ehring Haaland and Mo Sarah, who are the same old faces,” Crouch told the Mirror.
“But of the new faces, Sesco is the guy I like to watch. I’m excited about him. There’s still the fact that he’s not playing in the Premier League. That’s something you have to see.
“Can he settle down quickly? But he is the player who gets me the most excited from the new signature.”
Sesko sold to Old Trafford after Arsenal chose to snap Viktor Gyoker from Sporting Lisbon instead.
Gunner blew £64 million to the former Coventry striker.
Gyokeres weighed Ruben Amorim for the possibility of a reunion at United, but instead will operate under Mikel Arteta this season.
Arsenal has tracked Sesco extensively over recent seasons, with gyoker plumping, but Slovenia International still has more enthusiastic crouches. “Obviously he’s a proven goal scorer. I know someone who worked with him when he was in England before,” the former Liverpool striker said of Gyoker, who was in front of United vs Arsenal on Sunday.
“It was strange that he was let go. He went out into the sport, hit a lot of goals and I’m sure he can do the same for Arsenal.
“I think Sesco is a guy who runs to the ground. You never know. If he achieves some goals, he’ll be full of confidence.
United paid cash ahead as they managed just 44 goals in 38 games before stepping into 15th place in the final campaign.
Alongside Sesko, they chose Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals for Brentford, with Cunha, who found the net 15 times in the Wolf League in 2024/25, to try Premier League talent.
Crouch believes their new offensive Arsenal can integrate the term into the table.
“There are some great signatures,” he said.
“But the forward line needed work, right? That was all the unhappiness of last season, and Bruno Fernandez sometimes took them out of the real hole.
“Cunha and Mbeumo – It’s not that they haven’t played in the Premier League, they scored a lot of goals last season as well, and Sesko is a top player.
“I think they’re strength. Last year was a terrible year for them. There’s been a massive improvement and I think they’ll finish in the top six and around.”
Peter Crouch was speaking ahead of Paddy Power’s most generous start to the season. Continuing bets on Super Sub means you have more chances to win, even if the player you bet leaves. With more free betting builders than ever, there’s no good place to place punts.
