The Reds are hoping that two new additions will be added to the central defensive rank with two new additions before the transfer window closes, and sold Jarrel Cuansa to Bayer Leverkusen this summer
Liverpool has launched talks to land Crystal Palace and Marc Guech, with the Reds hoping for a deal after the initial discussion.
Centre Back Guech is keen to move to Anfield and play Champions League football. This decision would be a blow to the palace, which previously hoped to be able to protect the star defender. But earlier this week, Chairman Steve Parish admitted that they might have to sell players.
The Reds will also target Palma defender Giovanni Leoni. They have not approached the Serie A club about centrebacks yet.
But they are ready to land 18-year-old Leoni in this window and explore the details of the deal. Arne Slot wants defensive reinforcements before the transfer window closes, with Crystal Palace defender Guehi being the top target.

The Reds sold Jarrell Kuanza to Bayer Leberkusen early in the window, but Nat Phillips also set out for West Brom.
Joe Gomez is the most senior to Ibrahima Conate and Virgil van Dyke, but is currently injured.
Leoni invaded the Parma team last season and made 17 appearances in Italy’s top tier. Italian Under 19 International has turned their eyes to several top Serie A clubs, but Liverpool sees him as the perfect addition to the team and players who can develop training alongside the likes of Van Dyke and Conate.
Guehi was a top target this summer, establishing himself as one of the leading English centre-backs in the Premier League. He captted the palace into the FA Cup last summer, leading to a penalty shootout that attacked Liverpool on Sunday’s Community Shield.
Passing through the ranks at Chelsea, he only played two competitive games, so he enjoyed an impressive season-half loan at Swansea City before moving to the 2021 palace.
He played 156 times for the South London Club, scored eight goals and invaded the England team while having 23 international caps at the Palace.
