Sky Sports Pandit Mikalichers fear the worst for his ex-Manchester City, believing that Rodri’s absence will be able to shorten them in the race for the Premier League title
Mika Richards believes Manchester City is out of the title race as Rodri is on the way to October.
The Ballon d’Or winner missed most of the last season after destroying most of the last September. The Spaniard then suffered a gro caliber injury at the FIFA Club World Cup.
Manchester City spent hard again in January and summer after failing to win the trophy. However, former city defender Richards believes Rodri, signed in 2019 for £62 million, is key to the team.
“If Rodri was fit, I think they could have gone to the wire, but he probably doesn’t look like he’ll fit until October,” Sky Sports analyst said. “I think it will change the story with them, because it is extremely important to what they are doing in terms of stopping the counterattack.
“But Milan’s Tijani Reyjner is a really good player, he could play as No. 6, No. 8, and scored some goals in the preseason.

“So I saw that area on the pitch, boy Nico Gonzales last season, and it didn’t really happen to him in that No. 6 role, he’s No. 8.
“Rayan Cherki is similarly a player who can influence the game, playing on No. 10, playing on the right, and playing on the left with a great left foot.
“Liverpool is there, I think it will be my favorite this year. I think Chelsea will look strong after watching the Club World Cup. And we’ve been talking about Arsenal for a while in terms of needing a striker. I think the left side is still a little short.
Skypandit’s Jamie Karager has also predicted a competitive race for the title, warning that Liverpool will not appear in the title…
He states:
“I think we’ll do the title race. Looking at history, it’s not just about having the best players, but having the best team, getting that balance right, and it didn’t look right at all on the weekend (Community Cider).
