Marcus Rashford began a new chapter in his career after joining Barcelona on loan from Manchester United.
Mika Richards criticizes Marcus Rashford in her face, saying she needs to be more selfish in front of the goal. Manchester United forward Rashford, 27, joined the season’s La Liga Champions Barcelona after spending the second half of his last term on loan at Aston Villa.
And he’s already running his account under Hansiflic after scoring and supporting Barca’s last two preseason fixtures. Once considered the Golden Child of Old Trafford, Rushford struggled with his form last season, and his goals dried up before Villa Loan moved. In his half season with United, he scored seven points in all competitions – two fewer than the 2023/24 campaign and 23 fewer than 2022/23.
Richards pointed out that what he sees as an obvious flaw in his game in the rest of the game is a football podcast. “One of my criticisms about your game is that you feel you can be more selfish,” the former Manchester City star said. “You’re in a great region, so you always want to pass! All other players at the top of the world’s soccer are filming.”

Rashford agreed with Richards, but responded by suggesting that his priorities were not just scores. The 62-cap England International scored a career-high 30 goals in Eric Tenhug’s 2022/23 campaign, ahead of an issue with United’s successor Reuben Amorim.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love goals and things in scoring, but this is why I can’t be number 9 consistently,” he replied. “It’s not natural to me to do that, so if I’m doing it, I feel like I’m forcing it and I know I’m missing other photos from the game.
“If you’re just playing freely, you’re going to see these photos, so you feel it might be blocked and you might miss a team opportunity, so often the striker is pretty expensive for me.
These comments can cause surprises with some United fans, many of whom see the player’s potential for scoring. Rashford surged as he performed the club’s academy as a striker, and exploded on the senior circuit in 2016 with a reputation for his cool finish.
The players showed an appetite to help the team as they moved to the side to create space for others to play more centrally. And although his game still has the ability to play as a more controlled centre advance, his game has changed as a result.
That instinct was on display completely when he scored his first Barcelona goal with his recent friendly friendliness with Korean club Degu. The forward held back a 5-0 loss by flashing a strong drive past the goalkeeper from the penalty spot, following a cutback from former city defender Eric Garcia.
He continued by notching his first Balka assist in Joan Gun Partrophy, a 5-0 victory over Italian Club Como. However, in that match, Rashford remained with an egg in his face after missing a wide open goal at the back post.
