Dominique Calvert Lewin found a new club after his nine years of stay at Everton in July.
Dominique Calvert Lewin is poised to join Leeds after he finally brought a breakthrough in a summer search for his new club.
Calvert-Lewin was looking for a new team after leaving Everton as a free agent on July 1st. The 28-year-old striker spent nine years in the Goodison Park book, scoring 71 goals in 274 appearances for Everton, but is struggling with injuries.
He was linked to the move towards Manchester United and Newcastle, but nothing happened. Calvert Lewin reportedly took steps to speed up the process by denying his agent, and it appears he has now found a new home in Leeds.
Athletic reports that he has agreed with the newly declared Premier League side in principle and receives medical care. His lack of agents means that Calver Trewin will lead the negotiations himself with Leeds, where he competes with Joel Pillow and Lucas Nmecha in the place on Daniel Fark’s side.

He was offered a new contract from Everton last summer, but no agreement was reached, and after another difficult campaign the two companies parted ways on good terms. “This is not a light choice I chose,” he said after he left.
“Everton has been my home since I was 19. It was where I saw my potential, I challenged me to grow and shaped me as a footballer and a man.”
His move to Leeds pleases Rio Ferdinand, who was confused when the Red Devils linked the moves of the striker, who had four goals in England’s 11 appearances. His Rio Ferdinand presented a podcast saying, “Dominique Calvert Lewin can’t stay healthy. Why are you taking him to this club?
“This club is being built in the academy. There’s Chido Obi just sitting there. If you think about five or six games, you’ll play him. Not someone who can’t stay healthy and older.” United have signed Benjamin Sesko on a £74 million deal from RB Leipzig to play alongside Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
The main black mark against Calvert Lewin has always been his record of injuries. He played just 26 times for Everton and scored three times last season, admitting that David Moet is the main reason for his departure.
“I’ll make the final decision, but Dom has to show that he’s robust and worthy of playing,” he said in May. “No doubt he has qualities that other strikers don’t have. When he gets the opportunity to take it, he has to show us all. He needs to be prepared to train, play and compete in more games than he has available.”
