Liverpool continued their busy transfer window with another signature as they improved the under-21 side after agreeing to a deal with David Beckham and Gary Neville’s Salford City
Liverpool confirmed Will Wright’s signature from Salford City. The teenage striker has already been featured on Reds after joining the under-21 Rob Pages and playing the final 30 minutes of Hull City over the weekend.
The Merseyside Club defeated Arsenal to a player’s signature after being the first team to agree to a deal with Salford at the beginning of the summer. The North London side is said to have first submitted a bid for the Wright £250,000, a figure higher than the original offer reported by Liverpool with an add-on.
Ammie confirmed that the team with Gary Neville and David Beckham among the owners is a key offer from Liverpool. The forward made his Salford debut against Manchester City in January, making his club’s League 2 appearance twice.
However, Wright managed over 40 goals in his first season as a scholar, and transfers seem important for League Two clubs.
Salford said in a statement: “Salford City confirms that it has reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign the academy player. Will Wright. The club has received an important offer from Liverpool.

Academy boss Jamie Russell said: “After a very successful season as a scholar in his first year, I am absolutely delighted to have Will complete his transition to Liverpool. He has earned this opportunity and is looking forward to how he develops and continues to advance.
“As an academy, it’s great to see players move to Category 1 clubs. We’ve only had Category 3 since 2023, but we can see 17 players making their men’s team debuts and many players in the club are interested in a number of players out there that surpass the league.
“It’s clear that we have a route here in Salford. And there’s a platform for players to come from the grassroots and learn and perform to meet their potential. Of course, we don’t want them to stay here, do well, reach the men’s team and succeed for the club, but when this kind of move happens, we move like this to celebrate their success.”
