Former One Show presenter and Match of the Day Pandit said they have been able to find freedom since the BBC fired him in the wake of a sexting scandal
Jermaine Jenas claims she felt some relief after being fired by the BBC for sending inappropriate messages to two female colleagues.
The former Spurs midfielder played a prominent role in the Beeb. He announced one show and appeared as a regular critic in the match that day. However, the company decided to end its contract last year in the wake of a text messaging scandal. He was also taken away from their broadcast by TNT Sports and Talksport.
Gennas previously admitted responsibility for sending messages, saying that despite the interaction between “consenting adults” and “nothing illegal,” he was “embarrassed” by his actions.
But now, Gennas argues that leaving the BBC provided him with a sense of freedom in opening up opportunities for other media, including working with betting companies.

“I’ve been working in the media for the past decade and going through what I went through last year (it was a really difficult moment for myself and my family,” Jennas told the Reese Many Podcast.
“I have always raised my hands and taken full responsibility for what happened, but that is very important.
“You experience many different feelings of anger and responsibility, but ultimately, “Take responsibility, Jermaine, then you can move forward.” It’s easy to blame everyone else. ”
And Jenas said he could turn the negativity of losing his job into a positive way that creates new opportunities.
He added: “I recently set up my own production company because of the ability to take away my life, in terms of all the deals I had, the work I had at that particular time, and I said it would never happen again.
“My agency I had at the time didn’t support it. It’s not their fault, but when you’re in this kind of media bubble where you work for the BBC, there are so many barriers about what they want to do and what you don’t.
“I’m in football, so betting companies want to work with me. The BBC hates it because of issues related to gambling in general, so they block all of that.
“So there were a lot of blocks on one side and football was bringing me some things, but the reality was that everything was wiped out. It all took away.”
