The 2025/2026 campaign appears to be one of the busiest seasons ever.
The iconic tournament, held in the US, Mexico and Canada, will take place on June 11, 2026 within three weeks of the final round of the Premier League on May 24th.
With that in mind, I thought it was right to look at the number of matches that Premier League clubs could be playing this semester.

How many matches do teams not in Europe play?
11 Premier League clubs will participate in three tournaments this season.
This includes 20-time Premier League champions Manchester United, who were unable to qualify for Europe for the first time since the 2014/15 season.
These 11 teams challenge 38 Premier League fixtures, and if one of them reaches the FA Cup final, they add six more matches to their tally.
That’s not all. If the same team wins the Carabao Cup, they add seven more fixtures to their schedule (including two-legged semi-finals) to score up to 51 matches.
How many matches do teams in Europe play?
If that schedule seems tight, spare your thoughts on the teams competing in Europe.
Not only will these teams need to play 38 Premier League matches, they can also compete in up to 17 matches in Europe.
However, that only happens if they have to reach the final and enter the playoffs of the knockout phase.
European teams will only play up to six Carabao Cup matches, but if they reach the FA Cup final, they will challenge six more fixtures.
This will take up to 67 games in a potential total for the season.
Exceptions to that rule are Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Tottenham.
Palace played Premier League champions Liverpool in the FA Community Shield. This means the Reds can play 68 games this season.
The Eagles can also play 68 games in this term.
Oliver Glasner’s side plays Danish side mid-Zilland or Fredrikstad from Norway.
However, there are two league phase matches in the conference league. This means that the Palace fixtures total is also up to 68.
Spurs are involved in the UEFA Super Cup, so they can play 68 games and will face Champions League owner Parisen Germain.
