Bernardo Silva warns Liverpool and speaks with the honorable snub security guard | Football | Sports

Bernardo Silva issued a title warning to Liverpool, revealing why he refused the red praise among the guards of honor.

The Portuguese midfielder, named Manchester City’s new captain, has secured six Premier League crowns since his arrival at Etihad in 2017.

However, the final semester represents the second opportunity that led to Pep Guardiola’s team claiming the English Top Flight Trophy.

Silva admits that the city players experienced regrets throughout the overwhelming season and confesses that they surrendered too quickly.

However, the 31-year-old witnessed sufficient evidence this summer to ensure Guardiola’s army could place the campaign in another title bid.

“There’s a lot of guilt amongst the players for not getting better last season,” Silva admitted.

“Even the teams with our experience, our quality, (the injuries we had), we can’t get off as easily as we did.

“We should have done better to overcome this situation. We didn’t even try to compete for titles.

“I think we definitely have come back. We’ve returned in terms of getting hungry again. This is all very beautiful, but at the end of the day, the quality of the pitch makes a difference and shows whether we’re ready for performance.”

Silva had previously been denied a Premier League Championship with City during the 2019/20 campaign. Jurgen Klopp’s team secured the championship and in the seven remaining matches of that campaign, a visit to Man City made its debut as the title winner.

Guardiola’s players provided the Reds with a security guard of traditional honor, but Silva refused to praise the Liverpool team.

The Portuguese midfielder confessed that he struggled with defeat as he clarified his controversial choice to ignore Klopp’s team.

“I’m a bad loser,” Silva told The Times. “I hate losing. I played for Benfica for 12 years. They taught me that you wouldn’t be happy if you lost.

“In my opinion, it’s kind of hypocrisy (security of honor). It’s not the tradition we have in Portugal.

“If they want to do it, they can do it, but I wasn’t going to beat Liverpool because that’s not how I celebrate defeat.

“When I win the title, I don’t need anyone else to applaud for me.”
