“I want to thank my fans for all the messages I already had. I appreciate all the love and support I hope I can pay you back now.
“There’s a reason (choose number 18). There were other numbers, but my two favorite English players are Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoine.
“So as soon as I learned that this deal was close, I looked and number 18 was free, so it was perfect for me and that was the only number I was trying to take from that point on.

Grealish’s era in City was up and down after a £100 million transfer from Club Aston Villa in his boyhood days in 2021.
His best campaign took place in 2022/23, with 12 goal contributions in 28 Premier League appearances. Since then, in two seasons, only six goals have been involved in a total of 40 appearances.
Grealish is a three-time Premier League champion and boasts medals in the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.
