Florian Wirtz is set to run in various Liverpool roles this season after arriving from Bayer Leverkusen for the first £100 million.
Liverpool’s most exciting new face Florian Wirtz is sure he will make the realistic champion even better if Arne Slot gives him the freedom to express himself.
The 22-year-old Wirtz has already adorn his image outside of the KOP, making his first appearance in front of friendly new admirers home fans for Monday’s Athletic Bilbao.
The £100 million man who signed from Bayer Leverkusen in a deal that could raise the UK record to £116 million in June, can take the shape of Alexander Isaac, a busy summer spending headline act of over £265 million so far.
However, Wirtz is not afraid of his price tag and instead focuses on how to improve the team that won the Premier League in four games last season.

“I came here to play the best football and I thought I could fit this team,” Wirtz said.
“I really enjoy the first few weeks. I enjoy playing with these players. It gets a little better each time and I’m happy with how it progresses.”
Wirtz first wore a red shirt on his preseason tour in the Far East, featuring AC Milan’s matchup with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan.
He then played 74 minutes against Bilbao in Friendly on Monday. The second of the night’s two games was the second time as slots fell short of his entire team throughout the slot before Slot Sunday’s Community Shield with Wembley’s Crystal Palace.
Wirtz scored twice with La Liga side as he played the senior midfield role, and the German star says the Reds will benefit if the slots allow them to express themselves.
“Yes, I think I’m a player who needs freedom on the pitch. The manager gives me that,” he said.
“Of course I have to respect the position I am in and the players around me, but I am trying to do my best on the pitch and find the right place.
“I try to find the right place and the right space to get the ball, to be dangerous and create opportunities.
“We haven’t played any games in the Premier League yet, but we’re looking forward to it, so I’m here.”
Wirtz joined former Leverkusen teammates Jeremie Frimpong, left-back Milos Kerkez, French Forward Hugo Ekitike and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
The title victory followed by a summer change at Anfield. Trent Alexander Arnold, Luis Diaz, Kaoimhin Keleher and Jarrel Quanza are mourning the tragic death of Diogo Jota last month.
However, contrary to the concern that so many new faces will settle at the same time, Wirtz actually feels that all the new additions have arrived together is a positive thing.
“Yeah, I think it’s a good thing that there are a few players coming in at the same time,” Wirtz said. “We can connect a little and talk to each other about how we feel. It helps us all get into the team.”
