Louis Diaz recently moved from Liverpool to Bayern Munich. He pushed him to leave Anfield over his contract situation, but the Colombian remembered that he was not the first choice on the German side this summer.
Bayern Munich’s great Rossard Massaus reminded Louis Diaz that he was “not his first choice” after moving from Liverpool to the German giant for £65 million.
Two years remained in the Colombian’s contract at Anfield, and although he wanted a new deal, the KOP boss refused to open negotiations over a new deal. Bayern eventually secured a contract with Liverpool and took him to Bayern, finishing off in search of a new talent for offensive during the summer.
Diaz borsted the option that lost Thomas Muller and Leroy Sain in the free transfer, and Jamal Musiala was also injured. They had previously been trying to land Spanish star Nico Williams. Nico Williams ultimately decided to stay at Athletic Bilbao. And after seeing Diaz’s debut at Allianz Arena over the weekend, Massaus tried to remind both the players and his new club about their new marriage.

He told Build: “Diaz is a good player, but he wasn’t the first option for this position. We were rejected too. Ebal should not forget that.”
Diaz made his debut with a 2-1 victory over French Said Lyon. The 28-year-old got a penalty for getting out of the bench late and getting a glimpse of what he could do, but the former Red claimed he had more to the tank as he settled down.
He said: “I gradually get used to the team. I personally have had a good game. I had a chance to score, but I hope to score next time. My first impression is great. I’m very happy and feeling good for the first few days here.
Diaz has been well received by the German media, who gave positive reviews after his first outing. The Build claimed that Diaz “quickly silenced all critics who thought his huge travel fees were too high.”
The Kicker said: “Lewis Diaz brought a certain sense of play, with his predecessor Leroy Sané embodied over and over again in the first 45 minutes, dribbling, shot and looking for a way to goal, but entangled a few times.
“Has Bayern finally found a legal successor to him and Oris’ Argen Robben and Frank Ribery’s wing duo?”
