Mikel Arteta claims Viktor Gyoker is “100%” mentally ready to kickstart Arsenal’s Premier League campaign with a bang against Manchester United. The Swedes worked tirelessly on his first Emirates outing on Wednesday night, but were hungry for service as the gunners were beaten 3-2 by Villarreal in their penultimate 2nd season fixtures. The Gyokeres were primed in 63 minutes, but Arteta is definitely in a position to hit the ground starting at Old Trafford this season.

“I think he’s also building connections on the outside of the pitch, which I think is really important to the players who help him get in in positions that need him to come in.
“He hasn’t really trained with the team for two months, so he has had five or six sessions before today. He’s taking another step on Saturday and I think he’ll be in better shape.”
Teen Sensation Max Douman has captivated him off the bench, but Arteta reveals that the 15-year-old starlet is now heading for a holiday. The Arsenal boss could not provide assurance that Douman is imminent in his top flight debut ahead of the new season.
He states of the agile attacker: “Let’s see how that goes. Let’s go for his break on Saturday as well. He’s not really on vacation so we need a little break.
Arsenal will play the athletic club on Saturday in their final preseason fixture before preparing for their trip to Manchester United. Arteta is definitely a completed article on his side – they now need to prove it after three second place finishes.
He continued: “We know we need to take the next step. We’ll be better. It’s the same as the other teams. Looking at the competition, there are some of the puzzle pieces they’re adding, some of them are big.
