Cristiano Ronaldo’s long-term girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, revealed that they are finally engaged in getting married. The superstar couple were together for nine years, but Ronaldo had previously hesitated to pop the question. Now his partner is taking him to social media to confirm his long-awaited engagement and show off her incredible ring.
On Monday evening, Rodriguez posted a photo of their hands on Instagram. The Argentine model carried a giant diamond in his ring finger, confirming that Ronaldo finally asked him to marry him. She captioned the post. “Yes, that’s right. This and in my life.”
The pair have been together since 2016 when they met at the Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodriguez worked. They hit things right away and never looked back. Since then, we have stayed by each other’s sides.
Looking back at the first meeting, Rodriguez admitted that she felt an immediate connection with her future husband. She told Spanish media:
“Finally I left the store and got home three hours later than I had. I was ready to leave, so Cristiano came along with his eldest son and some friends.
The couple has two daughters, Alana, 7, and Bella, 3, 2018. Angel, the twin brother of the latter, tragically died at birth.
Rodriguez also helps raise Ronaldo’s three other children, serving as mother figures to 15-year-old Cristiano JR, 8-year-old Mateo, and 8-year-old Eva Maria.
Ronaldo hinted at the possibility of an engagement by calling Rodriguez his wife at the Globe Football Awards in Dubai last year. He said: “It’s a great joy to win this trophy. My eldest son is here, my wife is here.”
The former Manchester United striker was previously quized on why he didn’t pop the question and said, “I always say to her: “When we got that click.” Like everything in our life, she knows what I’m talking about
“It could be a year or six months later, or a month. I’m sure it’s going to happen.”
Meanwhile, Rodriguez previously said of her friend: “They always joke about weddings: ‘When is the wedding?’
