The Rangers confirmed the heartbreaking death of a fan who fell ill during a premiership match with Dundee on Saturday night. The game, which ended in a 1-1 draw between Russell Martin’s team and Stephen Presley’s side, was hidden by social media reports that supporters in the Bill Strath main stands have become seriously ill.
The man, considered 70, was rushed to a hospital, where Scottish police confirmed he had sadly passed away. The Rangers have just issued a statement expressing their sadness.
“The whole club’s thinking is with their family and friends. We reach out to our families and provide support during these deeply sad and difficult times.”
A statement from Scotland given to the Scottish Sun stated, “A police officer has recognized that a 70-year-old man felt sick during the Rangers v Dundee match at Ibrox on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
“He was taken to the hospital and later died. My close relatives know. There is no suspicious situation.”
