Liverpool and Newcastle are trapped in a battle for Alexander Isaac’s future, but one young red is set to move to Tyneside after declined a new contract at Anfield. Isaac became the headline act of the summer transfer window as he realized his heart would move to the Premier League champions in the cold of Newcastle.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has been working on rumours about Isaac’s future over the past few weeks. Liverpool has boosted the war chest for the possibility of a new bid for Isaac by offloading Darwin Nunes into his Saudi outfit. But Isaac Moran, a 16-year-old Reds midfielder, far from the millions involved in the deal, chose to leave the Liverpool academy and join Newcastle.
Former British youth skipper, Moran was promoted from under 16 to under 18 for the final trio of last season’s match, playing 90 minutes with Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Sunderland.
However, he is set to head to Sunderland’s northeast rival Newcastle after he rejected the scholarship deal offered by Liverpool. Moran, managed by the PLG agency of Ex-Reds’ vice captain Trent Alexander-Arnold, went to Instagram to announce his decision to say goodbye to Reds.
In a Hartfeld post, accompanied by a series of photos charting his journey from a youthful player to working for Jurgen Klopp and becoming a ball boy during a vital match against Tottenham, Moran announced:
“I hope that this decision is not underestimated and that it is known to be honored to represent the club, but I think it would be best for my career and future opportunities to go elsewhere.
“I want to thank all the hard work of all my teammates, coaches and staff over the past decade. It’s not only about me becoming a football player, but being who I am today. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. Ynwa.”
