Dominique Calvert Lewin has taken the issue of moving into his own hands this summer, as the former Everton striker reportedly plundered his agent. Calvert Lewin left Everton after his contract expires and is linked to several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United.
Calvert-Lewin, who was originally involved in 2016, enjoyed a strong stint for the Toffees for nine years, scoring 71 goals in 273 appearances. The injury has plagued the British career up until now, but Calvert Lewin is now looking to a fresh start after leaving Goodison Park behind.
According to the Sun, Calvert Lewin was unhappy with his representative and abandoned the institution that cared for his transfer business. Following Everton’s departure, Calvert Lewin was believed to be confident in stepping into his Premier League outfit.
However, the 28-year-old is not dependent on the 2025/25 Premier League campaign a few days before it is scheduled to begin. Calvert-Lewin is still considered to have a choice on top flights, but given the situation of the Red Devils striker, the move to United could be off the card for now.
It was rewind in just a few years and Calvert Lewin was touted as a potential unified signature. The move to the 20-time champions has not been postponed, and there have been tentative talks about the Premier League giants governing their interests, but it is unlikely to happen while Benjamin Sesco, Joshua Zilky and Rasmus Hozilund are featured in United’s books.
After Sesco arrives at £74 million, there are more talks about United being willing to let Hozilund leave this summer. If Dane departs, it can open the door to Calver Trewin’s united movement, but he will need to see elsewhere.
Aston Villa has been mentioned as a potential suitor, and the Europa League outfit is keen to add a cover of striker Ollie Watkins. Meanwhile, both Northeastern outfits, Sunderland and Newcastle, are thought to be interested in the forwards who have won 11 caps for the England national team.
Calvert Lewin left Everton behind the scenes of a disappointing three-goal campaign, with the attacker missing out on a big chunk of the season due to a hamstring injury. Calvert-Lewin is a free agent so you can sign the club after the September 1 transfer deadline, but you can only register if the club’s team has space.
