Newcastle striker Alexander Isaac is seeking a move to Liverpool, while Toon boss Eddie Howe has made a decision about his future involvement with his best friend
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe made a U-turn against Alexander Isaac. The striker is not expected to be featured in future friendly matches amid a continuing interest in Liverpool signing him.
Isaac missed Newcastle’s Asia tour and was the subject of a major bid from Liverpool, which Newcastle ultimately refused. However, once Darwin Nunes’s move to Al-Hilal is complete, the Reds are set to rekindle their interest in Isaac.
Isak is currently training away from the first team, but it has been previously suggested that Howe was ready to pick him for Newcastle’s upcoming preseason best friend against Espanyol and Atletico Madrid.
However, Howe has decided not to select ISAK in any of these games, as originally reported in Daily Mail. It is understood that Newcastle is sticking to the attitude of selling ISAK only if his replacements are lined up.
Newcastle is worth £150 million at 25 years old and has already missed two potential alternatives. Hugo Ekitike is due to sign for Liverpool, but Benjamin Sesco is about to join Manchester United.

When asked about Isaac’s future earlier this week, Hau said: “You have to earn the right to train with us. We are Newcastle United. Players are responsible for being part of the team and squad that are part of the team – you have to act the right way.
“So, it’s here too. We make sure the players do it to get the right to train in groups. Players can’t expect to be poor in their actions and train with the group like they normally do.
“Of course I want to be him, but I don’t know him at this point. We’re preparing for the time lag, training, games.
Newcastle is currently squeezing the moves of many forwards, including Nicholas Jackson, Yorn Wissa and Ollie Watkins.
“We see the best players we can get. We see only the best things we can get. I’m open to all the situations and I think we can use,” Howe said. “I feel that is the only way we are trying to get to where we want to go, and it was, as you know, a challenging summer, as you know.
“But we are still very competitive and we still want to bring good players to the club. That won’t change until the windows close.”
