Liverpool’s Alexander Isaac’s pursuit is one of the biggest transfer stories that have yet to be resolved this summer, but there is still time for the champion to make a deal
Liverpool manager Arne Slot shows Darwin Nunes’ move to Al Hilal is almost over. However, he is not drawn to questions about whether Alexander Isaac will take the Uruguay location at Anfield.
Slot’s Premier League champions have already added Hugo Ekitike to the frontline, but Isak is still on the radar. Although opening bids worth up to £120 million have been denied by Newcastle, it is still unclear whether Redd will return with fresh offers this summer.
“You know, we don’t talk about players that aren’t yours,” Slot told reporters before the Community Shield when asked about Isaac. “We can talk about Hugo, which we recently signed.
“We’re very happy with the team we have. Well, the players have left, but we bring players along, and the youngsters are doing well. Darwin may leave, but things have not been signed yet.
Isaac missed a Newcastle Asian tour and spent a period of training with former club Real Sociedad before returning to full fitness. The Swedes have returned to training in Newcastle, but manager Eddie Howe is not expected to pick him for his upcoming best friend.

“You need to get the right to train with us,” Howe said that week. “We are Newcastle United. Players are part of the team and have a responsibility to become part of the team. You have to act the right way.
“So, it’s here too. We make sure the players are doing it to gain the right to train with the group. Players can’t expect to train with the group as much as they do.”
Liverpool boss slot refused to comment directly on ISAK, but he pointed out another attacking option later in the campaign. Mohamed Sarah was set to miss out on some kind of action during the Africa Cup of Nations, and the slot showed that new right-back Jeremy Fripon would be the option to move forward further during that period.
“We definitely thought of AFCON, part of the reason he brought Frimon because he can play as a right fielder,” Slot said. “It’s up to six games without MOs, but there’s a lot in the Premier League. Jeremy can play there, but he’s not the only option.”
Liverpool’s more immediate focus is on Community Shield. The Reds face Crystal Palace in Wembley on Sunday, and it’s a chance for fans to see new signatures like Frimon, Ekitique and Florian Warts.
“Bilbao, Milan and Yokohama have already given us good competition,” Slot said, referring to his team’s preseason Test. “The Palace is running again. It’s still the same team. Starting the season is a good challenge.”
