Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has provided an update on the situation for Alexander Isaac, claiming that the forwards can’t yet be reintegrated into his team.
The striker is pushing to join Liverpool this summer despite Magpies’ claims that he will remain at St. James’ Park next season.
Speaking about the situation on Friday, Howe said: “He’s here, of course he has a future in Newcastle, so certainly, from our perspective, everyone is connected to the club.
“But the situation needs to be right for that to happen. He’s here and he’s signed us, so as long as he’s in that position, of course he could play for Newcastle again. But I don’t know what the future will be like.
“We’ve had discussions, but it’s clear that he can’t get involved in the group. I don’t know how long it will be. That’s the latest. I want to leave it on that line. I think the discussion between us must remain private.
