Newcastle is scrutinizing the transfer market for strikers who were trapped in Benjamin Sesco before Manchester United dives into the dive.
Newcastle was given the opportunity to end the hellish striker’s conundrum by signing Dusan Vlahovich from Juventus. However, the Italian giant is star midfielder Sandro Tonari.
Magpies are looking for a new striker after Alexander Isaac told the Chiefs of St James Park that he wanted to leave ahead of his preseason tour. Last week, Newcastle rejected a £120 million bid from Liverpool, but the Premier League champions are set to tailor their second offer.
Benjamin Sesco was identified as an ideal alternative, but he stole Newcastle in favor of a £74 million move to Manchester United. Chelsea’s Nicholas Jackson is understood to be a serious target for Howe, so they lowered the list.
But now Vlahovic has the option. Gazzaetta Dello Sport reports that Newcastle was offered the opportunity to sign Serbs through intermediaries.
Juventus dreams of signing Tonari and agrees with manager Igor Tudor and club chief Giorgio Ciellini, who is the right guy to solve problems in the middle. The problem is that Juve came up with an ambitious proposal because Newcastle thinks he can’t sell a 25-year-old who is happy in the Northeast.

In exchange for Tonari, the Italian giant will offer cash amounts and one of Vlahovic and midfielder Douglas Lewis or right-backed Nicolo Savona. Given that Newcastle is unlikely to agree to such an odd deal, Juventus has identified the number options for Lewis, like Vlahovich, on sale.
Sports Lisbon midfielder Dane Morten Holmand, Matt Orilly of Brighton, Frank Kessie of Al Ali, Sofian Amrabat of Fenerbafe and Brian Christate of Rome are finalists for replacements. Newcastle also needs to confirm whether the 25-year-old Vlahovic is a sufficient alternative to ISAK.
The former Fiorentina hitman is considered a surplus to Turin’s requirements after failing to score 20 goals in any of his three full seasons at Bianconeri. Vlahovic scored 10 Serie A goals in the previous term and had little to no fit Juve paid to sign him in January 2022.

Serbia International is linked to a move to AC Milan, managed by former Juventus boss Massimiliano Alegri. Vlahovic has a physical presence to step into Isak’s shoes, but allowing Tonali to leave, even with Luiz and Savona booting makes it a huge gamble.
Newcastle will not change if Isaac comes out and demands UK record fees. Juventus may have to be more creative if he wants to bring Tonari back to Italy.
