Newcastle United insiders reportedly fear that Alexander Isaac played the final magpie after a failed attempt to give a clear speech. Liverpool has registered interest in Swedes and saw bids worth £110 million and add-ons, which were rejected by Newcastle, believed to cost the total fees on £120 million. The Northeast Club values the striker at £150 million, but now there are reports that it will not sell at any price.
However, with each Chronicle Live, Isaac’s head was “fully turned” by the Premier League champions, and Newcastle is concerned that the frontman will never play black and white again. The deal is not easy as Liverpool has yet to offer a second bid since Liverpool’s first rejection. The Reds declared that they would not return for Isaac unless the Newcastle company’s non-selling stance was weakened.
Liverpool has yet to improve their offers, but Newcastle is already about to sign a striker who has lost Calm Wilson (now at West Ham). Eddie Howe’s side failed to sign a number of attack targets this summer, including Chelsea duo Liam Dellup and Manchester United pairs Benjamin Sesco and Brian Mbemo.
Meanwhile, Isak trains individually and is declared perfectly fit by Howe despite the absence of group sessions.
The Newcastle manager gave a speech with ISAK, which he said would “remain private,” but added that the report would be reintegrated into the 25-year-old team, making his choice impossible despite the availability of his response.
Instead, the Swedes missed a Friday night draw with Espanyol and were not even at St. James Park to watch the match from the stands. His representatives are trying to drive the move in personal terms already considered agreed to by Liverpool.
Isaac is frustrated with Newcastle and feels disappointed with the hierarchy. He was denied a new contract in the summer of 2024 due to financial constraints after being told that his progress would be rewarded by rising bumper wages.
The striker will still run for three years on his current contract, paying around £120,000 a week and securing an epic new salary on the move to Anfield.
As it stands, Isaac will not return to his Newcastle squad or face Aston Villa in the Premier League opening game at Villa Park next weekend.
Howe explained Friday night:
“But I don’t think we’re changing before Aston Villa, the current situation. We’re debated and it’s clear at this point that he can’t get involved in the group.
“I don’t know how long it will last. It’s clear at this point that he can’t get him into the team. He trains later than the other teams. There’s been some debate since the tour. I don’t think there’s been any disciplinary action.
“Of course he has a future in Newcastle. From our perspective, we want him to return to the team, but the situation needs to be right for that to happen.
“He has no fitness issues. I feel that there are some of the teams that don’t benefit from the group.”
