A new TV deal for UK Sky Sports and TNT confirms that Premier League clubs must allow more behind-the-scenes access than before – but the club can say no if they are losing
Premier League teams are given a veto next season when it comes to allowing cameras in the dressing room if they are losing.
Dressing Room Access is one of many enhancements recognized by top flight clubs as part of a new domestic television deal with Sky Sports and TNT Sports, and must be “positive” along with halftime players or manager interviews and match interviews with managers or alternative players.
Clubs are required to broadcast one of these enhancements at least twice per season, according to details of the broadcast arrangements for the new campaign, listed in Section K of the league’s latest handbook.
However, clubs can deny access if they are lost when access was scheduled to be provided, but they must respond to requests for another access later in the season.

The broadcaster must make a request to the club to enhance access at least five days before the match and set which access is recommended. The club must respond at least 72 hours before the match. Broadcasters and clubs will work together to ensure that the collected content is “positive and non-operating,” the handbook says.
Dressing room access is between the end of the warm-up and the first bell run before kickoff, between the first bell call and the player leaving the dressing room immediately after halftime or a match, if all players return to the dressing room. The club also has the final say on whether audio will be recorded or not.
In halftime interviews, clubs and broadcasters must mutually agree 24 hours prior to the match, whether or not a player or manager is available. For players, they are selected by the broadcaster from at least five editors and provided to the club within 40 minutes of the match.
According to the handbook, the interview consisted of three questions, “related to a league match,” “positive,” and “positive,” and the match interview included a manager or alternative player, making it available within 85 minutes of the match. In these interviews, there are fewer than two questions:
Sky will air a minimum of 215 top flight games this season under a new four-year contract that has risen from 128 games this season, with all fixtures played on Sunday currently being televised nationwide. The opening match for that report includes champion Liverpool, who will host Bournemouth on Friday, August 15th.
Access to the dressing room has been tried previously. Last season, TNT Sports worked with Brentford under an agreement between executives.
