New “vertical” Aston Villa signs Evan Speculation to bring qualities like Nicholas Jackson and Yorn Wissa

The French will be the summer arrival of the Villa’s second first team, offering a new dimension to Unai Emery’s forward line with a new campaign.

“He played a lot on the right side this season and got most of his goals by doing so.

“Physically, he has many qualities. He’s as fast as he’s strong. He also has good techniques and likes to carry the ball.

“Last season he played for a team that pressed a lot, so he learned how to become the team’s first defender and that allowed him to trust.”

He adapts to the vitality of English top flights, so it requires elements of speculation and physicality, and Mantovani believes he thinks that defenders are certainly a handful.

“He’s very powerful, but he’s very mobile too,” Mantovani continued.

“He was able to resist the physical strength of a powerful defender, especially with his arms and body back to the goal.

“His versatility is also a big advantage. He knows it and has been intentional about it. He said in the past he thought he would help him with a bigger club in a bigger competition to get playtime.

“He’s pretty fast too, and can use speed on both the axis and the wing. He likes to go deeper into the midfield as needed to get the ball up on his offensive end.”

Mantovani also compared speculation and attributes to the league’s two other African stars, citing a comparison between Senegal International Nicholas Jackson and Brentford’s Congolese frontman Joan Wissa.

“He’s a bit like Nico Jackson in his versatility, speed and the way he carries the ball. You can also argue that he looks like Yoan Wissa like that.”
