Ollie Watkins remains high on Manchester United’s list of potential offensive reinforcements, but finances could potentially lead head coach Reuben Amorim to a creative approach
Manchester United have explored offering Alejandro Garnacho to Aston Villa as part of their deal to land Ollie Watkins, which is alleged. Miller Football understands that Watkins will remain United’s top offensive target as he continues to rebuild the summer.
Head coach Reuben Amorim has already added his rank to his rank for Matteus Cunya and Brian Mbeumo. United also let Marcus Rashford lend it to Barcelona, but more players are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Garnacho is looking for a potential suitor and is another person for sale. And according to the Independent, the Villastar Watkins player plus cash contract is one path being explored.
The same publication claims that United spoke to Chelsea about a similar swap deal as they are trying to stay in the PSR rules. For the Blues, Nicholas Jackson is the player Amorim’s side wants as part of the arrangement.
Jackson was given a pecking order at Stamford Bridge after Liam Dellup and Joa Pedro arrived. However, Chelsea is looking for £80 million from Senegal International, and United may struggle to meet its asking price without using players for the total.

Chelsea had links with Garnacho in January, but he was to stay at Old Trafford for the rest of the season. But now it seems difficult for him to find a way back to the bottom of Amorim.
Enzo Maresca’s side has already handed over one United winger this summer, refusing to make Jadon Sancho’s loan move permanent. They reportedly cherished Argentina International over £30 million, and United wanted more than that in their winter windows.
If United can’t land Jackson or Watkins, they can return to Benjamin Sesco. However, the new arrival Mbeumo also insists on playing as a nine-year-old himself.
“Right now, in football, you need to be able to play in a few other positions rather than say you’re your best,” Cameroon International said. “I think it’s really good to gain experience. Obviously, I played mainly as a winger at Brentford, but I don’t have any particular positions that I feel I can do the best.
“But for Brentford, I was playing as No. 10 or No. 9 in my pocket. I can play all these positions. Of course, I’ve played in many formations before, so that helps me.”
