Liverpool will be sealing off the transfer of teenage prospects before Arsenal this summer, despite gunners agreeing to players’ fees before the Reds.
Liverpool has agreed to a deal with Salford City for Will Wright’s move. The Reds beat Arsenal to the 17-year-old forward’s signature and finalize consultations with player representatives and forward them across the line.
The Gunners agreed to a deal with Salford early in the summer, but are now trying to hijack their move. Arsenal is said to have first filed an additional bid for Wright, £250,000, a figure greater than the original offer that Liverpool reported £100,000 for add-ons and £100,000 for add-ons and £250,000 for Wright.
However, it appears that the Merseyside club have returned to win the race to continue their busy summer transfer business. Wright is said to have preferred to stay in the northwest.
The teenager faced Manchester City in January and continued to play twice in the club’s League 2. Wright is regularly featured in the B-team of the club owned by Gary Neville and David Beckham.
The plan is for Wright to join Liverpool’s Under 21. Arne Slot has already seen seven players sign the first team so far in his second summer at Anfield.

Florian Wiltz is the headline signing as Liverpool broke the UK transfer record landing on the German International Land. Slots also added Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman as club spending approaches £300 million.
Liverpool is set to see a major deviation in the shape of Louis Diaz. Columbia International will sign a five-year contract with Bayern Munich after the team agrees to a £65 million transfer.
Diaz left Liverpool’s preseason tour and traveled to Munich earlier this week after the Merseyside club agreed to a weekend transfer. The 28-year-old was left behind by the Reds’ friendliness against AC Milan on Sunday.
Slots have been pleased with the club’s job in the market so far. “I think what I said is that I’m really happy with the team we had,” Slot said.
“It also showed that we didn’t bring in new players from last season, and now we’ve won the league, but we’re playing in Europe in the Premier League so we can see everywhere around us.
“So if we did the same thing as last year, we probably won’t win again. So we need to improve the players we’re still here. I think the players we brought have already shown them, like you brought. I’m happy to have kept the players we’ve extended their contracts last season.”
