Liverpool enjoys a productive summer transfer window, but despite linking with Crystal Palace’s Mark Ngwehi, they have yet to strengthen their defence center
Liverpool won’t have to hurry up and buy a new defender this summer, former Reds No. 1 David James believes Arne Slot’s side can now rely on opposing Outscons Outscons.
The Reds spent a lot of money this summer, breaking up well over £200 million. It’s been seen as they bring the likes of Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz. Now their attention has been transformed into Alexander Isaac, and the prolific Swedes are open to leaving Newcastle this summer.
Anfield is considered his most likely destination, which will further bolster Liverpool’s attacks, including those like Mohamed Sarah.
However, Slot has approved Jarrel Quanza’s departure, but Ibrahima Connate, whose contract expires next summer, is linked to a move to Real Madrid 12 months later. It brought interest to Liverpool in Crystal Palace skipper Mark Guech.
James has argued that Liverpool’s defense is unlikely to face the most difficult Test early in the season until the second half of the Champions League, so it can give them more time to supply reinforcements.

He states:
“The idea that Liverpool must have the best defensive power is great, but I don’t think they need to be in a hurry to buy someone. That may happen in January. The end of the Champions League campaign will allow you to play against a better team and question your defensive issues.
“I think they’ll be very successful anyway. They don’t think they’ll have to go out desperately and buy someone.
Guehi just captained the Eagles in the FA Cup, but he has no plans to extend the deal at Selhurst Park, which expires in a year. He has not ruled out the possibility of plunging down his contract to make him a free agent next summer.
