Allison Becker left Liverpool’s Asian preseason tour for personal reasons, with goalkeeper returning to Brazil before a friendly clash with Yokohama f Marino
Liverpool boss Arne Slot explained why goalkeeper Alisson Becker left the club’s preseason Asia Tour. Allison returned to Brazil ahead of a friendly match with Tokyo’s Yokohama F. Marino.
The incumbent Premier League champion was beaten 4-2 by AC Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday before travelling to Japan to head to Japan. However, Allison missed the game and started a new signature, signing Giorgi Mamardashvili, in his place.
“He had to return to Brazil for personal reasons,” Slot told club media before the game. “That’s far from ideal. First of all, for personal reasons, it’s not ideal to have him not participate in a game like this and miss out on a part of the preseason.
“But again, with these issues it’s more important than getting into today’s game.”
Allison is Liverpool’s third player to leave the preseason tour, and defender Joe Gomez was the first to leave after suffering minor Achilles injuries before his match against Milan. However, the slot is sure Gomez will soon be working.

After losing to Milan, Slot said: “I’m looking to my left (at Virgil van Dyke) and I don’t think we’re worried about centre-backs. From a depth perspective, Ryan showed today that he can play that position.
“But we all know we like him as a central midfielder. We also have the chance to be centre-back, Joe Gomez had a good option for us last season as well.
Louis Diaz also left the team on Monday and moved to Bayern Munich, £65 million, saying goodbye before flying to Germany. “I’m very happy. Being a part of FC Bayern means so much to me,” Diaz said after the deal was confirmed.
“They are one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to help my new team with the way they play football and the characters. My goal is to win every title. That’s how I work as a team every day.”
Bayern sports director Christoph Freund added:
“He also has a lot of experience at the top level with Liverpool and Colombia national teams. Louis Diaz represents a complete package that thrills our fans.”
