Reuben Amorim, including teenage winger Ethan Williams on Manchester United’s US preseason tour, opposed expectations when this faith was repaid.
Reuben Amorim’s decision to include youngster Ethan Williams on Manchester United’s team for the US preseason tour seems to have paid off. The 19-year-old was not expected to be part of the travel cohort, but he played against Bournemouth on Thursday.
The Red Devils already put West Ham in the sword on Sunday when they won two Premier League Summer Series and beat Cherry 4-1 in Chicago. Rasmus Hojlund opened the score after eight minutes, and Patrick Dorgu added another one before halftime.
Amad Diallo won his third time in 53 minutes, and after a minute in place of Ivorian, Williams took the house by storm after a great run from Diego Leon.

Williams was initially not expected to travel to the US in light of the expected loan move, but Amorim has overturned this decision and earned the reward after truly shining on British talent.
According to the Daily Mail, Williams, who scored twice in the second half of last season on loans in Cheltenham Town, was expected to be ruled out from United’s preseason tour.
The decision was reportedly made due to the interest of many League One clubs in lending Williams. But head coach Amorim slowed his mind after liking Wideman.
“It was last minute,” Williams told the club’s website after Thursday’s victory. “I was told not (going), and I was. I remember not flying around the bedroom, but I was bustling.
“I’m the best player I’ve ever trained and I know what I mean, so have I been trying to train well?
Williams couldn’t see game time with the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory over West Ham in New Jersey over the weekend, but he made an immediate impact on the Soldiers field, cutting back on the enthusiastic figures after the game.
“That’s mad, I can’t believe it,” he declared. “To be honest, it hasn’t sunk yet. It’s a dream come true and I’m so happy right now. I’m thinking about every moment, every effort I’ve experienced.
“You know, I feel so blessed to have this opportunity. I’m angry to score. I can’t even explain my feelings. To be honest, I’ve already sent a message to my dad. He sacrificed everything for me and my brother.
“I was straight on the phone and texting him (saying) I couldn’t believe I just scored. He was like, ‘I told you.’ It’s a crazy feeling because for a while I was finally experiencing this experience and actually going ahead and scoring. ”
After the preseason ends, Williams could still be shipped on loan, but Amorim could have been given something to think about with this cameo.
“Obviously, I want to stay here. Obviously, my long-term goal is to play for the first team,” added Williams, 19. “It’s going to be a dream.”
