Alexander Isaac is set to miss Newcastle United’s final two preseason friendly as Liverpool Switch stories continue to gather pace. The striker went to AWOL earlier this summer and was believed to be training with his former club Real Sociedad before returning to his Northeast outfit this week.
Liverpool is believed to have already seen one bid because the striker was rejected, and Newcastle has asserted that it is not available to Swedes under £150 million. It’s not stopping Liverpool from pushing the deal, so there’s a suggestion that Merseyside outfits can start another bid by the September 1 deadline.
The latest from the Liverpool saga to the Liverpool saga is that the forwards are not featured in friendly equipment this weekend at St James’ Park with Espanyol and Atletico Madrid. That’s according to the Daily Mail, the former Borussia Dortmund Ace has trained away from Eddie Hau’s first team and will reject the chance to run out against the two Spanish sides, even if he was offered a chance.
Isaac and his camp draw out their stall and do not appear to be retreating: the striker wants to go out. Newcastle intends to extend it for their ratings, but could slightly change their stance if they can first secure an alternative to Isaac. Meanwhile, Liverpool is believed to be exploring other options, with Rodrigo and Bradley Barcola being spoken of as alternatives to Isaac.
Benjamin Sesco appeared to help the transfer piece fall into place as far as Liverpool and Newcastle are concerned, but the RB Leipzig star appears to have snubled Newcastle in favour of Manchester United’s move instead. It brings Newcastle back to the drawings and reports a list of several strikers that are thought to be on the same outlet’s list of Howe.
Yoanne Wissa has linked to Newcastle for most of the summer transfer period, and he even saw the League Cup winner being knocked back by Brentford. They are interested in signing him from Brentford, and unlike other rumored transfer targets, Wissa is keen to sign Newcastle.
Brentford is determined to land a deal worth £35 million for Wissa, who has been shining for bees since being promoted to the Premier League in 2021. Wissa believes that in Newcastle Camp he should be able to enter the first XI directly.
Jorgen Strand Larsen, Rodrigo Muniz and Dominique Calvert Lewin are also debated as potential options, but Newcastle is thought to be keen to add multiple offensive additions given the loss of Callum Wilson on a free transfer earlier this summer. Goncaro Ramos was charged for the possibility of a “big ticket” arrival, while Newcastle appears to have distanced himself from the PSG star’s movement, while Nicholas Jackson is being touted as a potential option in the second half of the window.
