Diogo Jota sadly passed away last month after a car accident with his death that affected the world of football, and Diogo Darott spoke about his connection with his Portuguese teammate
Diogo Dalot has emotional respect for Diogo Jota, saying his compatriots and friends will be “remembered forever.” Jota and his brother Andre Silva were killed when the car they were traveling suffered suspicions of tires being blown away in northern Spain last month and crashed.
The pair were on their way to board the ferry from Santander, which was set to return to preseason training in Liverpool when the tragedy took place on July 3rd.
“It’s hard to talk about that,” Darrott said. “For all of the teammates I played with with him, it was a tough week for me, and I can’t imagine what my family went through.
“I had the opportunity to see them, and it’s just hard. When such a tragedy happens like that, I don’t think there’s any word to explain it. It hits you.
“I felt that everyone, the whole world, even if they didn’t know him personally, felt that. It’s just a tragedy.

“Every time, at least I, I go on the pitch, I try. I still see a shirt with his name on it, and I think he will be remembered forever.
“He was a great guy and a great teammate, so I think he deserves it. People I say want to see the players behaviour when you’re playing when you’re not playing.”
Darott said Jota’s legacy of always putting others first will continue to live up to after his death, and he cherishes the memories he made with his fellow countrymen and teammates. “He was always the guy who put his team in mind first, so I always remember him that way.
“He could have played on any team, and when you talk about your personal side, I don’t see the shirt he represents.
“Obviously, I played with him for years and with the national team, and I spent time with him there, I made connections, you made some memories and I think that is what I want to protect, the good memories.
