Reports suggest that Manchester United have made the move to sign Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Beleva. Red Devils is currently working to close the deal for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, but hopes to bolster the midfield by the summer deadline.

According to L’Equipe, United have begun discussions with Brighton to discuss the terms of the potential transfer, but have yet to learn their asking price. Arsenal and Liverpool are also taking part in the Valeva competition, but it is currently argued that United is considered in Paul’s position.

The report adds that Reuben Amorim sees Valeva as one of the pillars of his project at Old Trafford, where he is preparing for his first full season.

Meanwhile, David Ornstein reports that United contacted Brighton via an intermediary, which could possibly be a complicated deal.

Brighton is said to want to keep Valeva in at least another season and is not sanctioning the summer sale.

The transfer guru says United recognizes that the Switch this summer could be unrealistic, especially if the club continues to struggle to sell players.

United are negotiating a payment structure with Leipzig after offering £605 million and £9 million add-ons with Sesko add-ons.

It is argued that the M16 giants can’t afford a big-budget recruit, either mid- or up front, unless players are sold.

Amorim has already thrown a total of £133.5 million with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, and Sesko’s deal will raise its tally by more than £200 million.

United hopes to sell Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia before the deadline, but Rasmus Hozilund will also leave if Sesco arrives.

Brighton doesn’t feel pressure to sell Baleba, which he has signed with Amex Stadium until 2028.

Losing one of the Premier League’s most highly rated midfielders two weeks before the new season begins will be a major blow for Fabian Hazeler.

United hopes to understand whether Old Trafford has scope to seduce Valeva in the coming days.

But first, Old Trafford’s figures would want to put together Sesco’s signature to complete Amorim’s attack overhaul.
