Benjamin Sesco appears to be setting up a huge hit summer transfer to Manchester United after reportedly agreeing to a personal terms. The 22-year-old snubbs Newcastle United to support the switch to Old Trafford, and signs a five-year deal once RB Leipzig accepts the fee payment structure.
Sesco has been linked to United for a long time. United have tried to sign him on three previous occasions, dating back to when he played in his hometown of Slovenia at the age of 16. The Red Devils appear to have a man to complete the attack overhaul of Reuben Amorim, but there are concerns about the deal.
Sesko represents another young advance, arriving in Manchester from overseas and immediately inheriting a new level of pressure and expectations.
Several signatures have previously collapsed at their weight, including the striker Rasmus Hozilund, whom he is trying to replace.
Dane scored only four Premier League goals last season, potentially being kicked out two years after his £72 million arrival.
Amorim is focusing summer recruitment on attackers paid by the Premier League, but Sesko is an expensive risk.

Those involved can be comforted by the fact that they believe that Sesco is ready to take a step out of Leipzig.
Because in 2023 the Slovenians rather refreshingly admitted that he was not yet ready to test himself at a club like United.
“To be honest, maybe (I’m ready) in a few years.
“I still have a lot to learn and there’s a lot of room to improve. Let’s say my maximum is 100%, at 60% now.

“I’m still growing and improving year by year, and when I reach 100%, I’m ready for anything. I think it’s best to take that step when it takes time.”
Two years later, United will need Sesco to prepare. Amorim’s focus was on adding players to attacks that could immediately provide targets.
Brian Mbemo scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season. Matheus Cunha scored 15.
Sesco has won the net 13 times in the Bundesliga, but England’s transition to top flight has proven difficult.
