Louis Diaz has completed his move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich after summer speculation about his future
Arne Slot believes Liverpool has done a “great business” to make money by selling Louis Dias to Bayern Munich. Columbia International completed £65.5 million for the Bundesliga giants and signed a contract at Allianz Arena until 2029.
Diaz, 28, was declared not being sold by the Reds early in the window, but the club was eventually left to say goodbye to their star. The Winger played a key role in Liverpool’s title win under the slot, but was permanently linked to his travels from the club despite having a contract for another two years.
The transfer led Diaz to a three-and-a-half year stay at Anfield after arriving at Merseyside from Porto in 2022 on his first £37 million deal. Liverpool is earning decent benefits for players.
Slot admitted he was disappointed that Diaz was leaving after the attackers scored 13 goals and seven assists in the previous Premier League. However, the Dutch believes in the ability to bring in new players on his side, and acknowledges that there is sometimes a need for an exit to promote it.
“Lewis is the player we won in the league and there’s a reason we won with him because he’s such a good player,” Slot said. “It’s always a shame to see someone like that leave to some degree.

“But on the other hand, we’ve sold him a lot of money. As you probably know better than I do, this football club has given us an incredible signature over the years, but part of the strategy is that we have to sell someone from time to time.
“I think we’ve had a great business by bringing Luco for many years and then selling him for a very good profit. Luco was a fun player to work with because he had a smile on his face every day.
Slot already thinks there are many options at his disposal to fill the gaps Diaz has left behind. We checked out the names of former Faynold Booth, who was impressed by the previous season of the original season.
“If a player leaves, whether it’s Trent (Alexander Arnold) or Luco, I think you always need to replace them with quality,” he said. “However, quality can be in different positions. There are more than a few players who can play in many positions.
“At this moment we still have Cody Gakupo, Rio (ngumoha) shows very good signs. I think Florian Whartz can play from the left side too. We are already in the right place.”
