England and Manchester City goalkeeper Chiara Keating has been fined after being convicted of driving without correct taxes a few days after celebrating Lioness’s Euro 2025 victory
Lioness star Chiara Keating was fined a few days after she lifted the Euro 2025 title in England. Keating was part of the England team that held the Euro on Sunday by beating Spain in a penalty in the final.
However, just a few days after lifting the trophy in Basel, Keating was fined for not paying motor vehicle tax. On Wednesday, the magistrate fined Keatie £440 and ordered him to pay back £79.17 and £20 costs after being stopped in December for driving a Volkswagen Polo without correct tax.
The 21-year-old did not attend the courtroom of the magistrate in Tameside, but the case was heard in her absence. Keating was exempt from drug charges after Manchester police dropped them just weeks before the euro began.
Keating and her mother, Nicola, were charged with possession of a Class C drug, nitrous oxide, last June. They both pleaded not guilty and the charges were dropped in June.
“I was relieved that the charges had been dropped. As I always said, I had nothing wrong,” Keating told the BBC. “It’s been a difficult time, but I always know the truth. Now I look forward to being fully focused on the Euro and spending time with my family.”

Keating didn’t play for the Euro with Hannah Hampton starring as first-choice goalkeeper, but she was a key part of the team and part of the joyous celebration that took place after returning to the UK.
The victory parade took place on Wednesday in front of more than 50,000 fans, with England captain Leah Williamson saying:
“This is incredible. It’s probably one of the best (things) we’ve ever been involved in, so thank you for coming out.
“There are many ways to win a football match, and we’ve done it repeatedly in the difficult ways, but you can see how much we play in England and how much we love it.”
