Tom Brady showed off his American football philosophy at last season’s championship.
Tom Brady fumed in what he deemed a “f***ing stupid” opinion by a Birmingham city aide during David Beckham’s visit to last season. Birmingham, the owner of the NFL legendary Brady, played against Wrexham, owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McKenney, in what was called the “Hollywood Derby” in League One.
Brady, who bought a minority stake in Blues in 2023, spurred into the UK last September to see the collision. The seven-time Super Bowl winner invited his good friend and English football icon Beckham to watch it with him at the stadium.
Birmingham won a 3-1 victory over Welkham on that fixture. This was prominent in the new Fly-on Amazon Prime Video documentary entitled “Billmingham: Brady & the Blues.”

The 5-Episode Docusary models Reynolds and McElhenney’s own highly successful “Welcome to Wrexham to Wrexham” on Disney+.
Second in these episodes, Brady is seen on camera before playing the Beckham host. Before the Wrexham match, Brady suggests co-owner Tom Wagner that he will need to organize his gift bags with club sweaters, hoodies, scarves and hats for the former England captain.
However, Wagner’s aides say the move is considered a fake PA given that Beckham only played for Manchester United in the UK, considering his lack of affiliation with Birmingham.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said, “It’s stupid! Give him a gift bag and take it home! It’s sweet. He doesn’t have to wear it.”
At one point, Brady is true American fashion, also says, “wrexham, we’re here for your a**.”
Brady also meets Wrexham’s co-owner McElhenney and makes the strange decision to present him with a personalized blues shirt bearing No. 12 and “McElhenney” on his back and “McElhenney.”
When I received it, I was told that “it’s always sunny in Philadelphia” star joke: “What should I do with that?”
Both Birmingham and Wrexham continued to secure automatic promotions for last season’s championships. The Blues won the title with an EFL record of 111 points.
Meanwhile, Wrexham came in second with 92 points, becoming the first team in EFL history to win three consecutive promotions. Their newly formed rivalry was once again on display this season as they were facing each other in the championships, both spent a lot of time in the summer transfer window.
