Manchester City's Josco Gvaldior took place in Manchester, England on 22 September 2024 in Manchester, England, for his possession with Arsenal's Buka Yosaka during Manchester City FC and Arsenal FC's Premier League match at Manchester City FC and Etihad Stadium.
The 2025/26 Premier League season will be held on August 15th.

We are currently two weeks away from the new Premier League season, with soccer fans offering Sky Sports at 66 points a day. The 2025/26 campaign is scheduled to kick off on Friday, August 15th, with title holder Liverpool facing Anfield’s Bournemouth.

The opening weekend is packed with must-see fixtures, including Wolves vs Man City, Chelsea vs Crystal Palace, Man United vs Arsenal and more. Each of these games will be on display on Sky Sports alone as broadcasters increase Premier League coverage from 128 games this season to a minimum of 215.

Sky says this is 80% of all Premier League matches that aired. To catch all these fixtures, football fans will need to secure a Sky Sports subscription in addition to over 1,000 live games from EFL, SPFL, WSL and Bundesliga.

It works at around 66p per day over 30 days, with access to nine Sky Sports channels including Main Event, Premier League, Soccer, Formula 1, Golf, and Tennis. It also includes the recently released Sky Sports+ Channel at no additional cost. This includes live streams of over 1,000 live EFL games, all Carabao Cup Fixtures, and all matches from Men’s Rugby Super League.

The only catch is that people without an existing Sky Package will need to pair Sky Sports with their TV and Netflix plans. However, these total plans were revamped last year and now start at £35 on Essential TV and Sky Sports.

Sky Sports is available from 66p per day prior to the 2025/26 football season.

This comes with over 100 regular TV channels, including Sky Atlantic, plus free Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions. Customers can also add TNT Sports to their packages. This will allow you to enjoy European competitions next season at £20, which is much cheaper than £30.99 for in-person participation via Discovery+ Premium.

Sky’s deal will offer huge discounts across the Sky Sports package until September 2nd when Virgin Media launches rival Summer of Sports Sale. These start with a large combo bundle + sports that comes with over 200 TV channels, including 8 of the main event, football, and Sky Sports, including Formula 1.

It also has 516Mbps fiber broadband, all of which have been reduced to savings of £65.99 to £54.99 to £264. The downside of both Sky and Virgin plans is that customers see an increase in at least two invoices over a 24-month period, as each provider raises prices each year in April.

Liverpool's Virgil van Dyke will lift the Premier League trophy as Liverpool crowns the 2024/25 Premier League champion.
Liverpool will defend their Premier League title in their new season.

This year, Sky introduced a 6.2% increase in TV customers, but has yet to see opportunities for next year. Virgin already confirmed that the larger combo bundle + Sport will rise to £58.49 from April 2026 and £61.99 from April 2027.

What distinguishes Sky from its rival is not what Virgin offers, but the opportunity to cancel the contract after a price increase is announced.
