Man United released a new home shirt and a new away shirt last June.
Manchester United supporters have been confirmed to be left disappointed as they are unable to obtain the legendary names of the three clubs printed on the kit.
The Red Devils unveiled a new home shirt and away kit last June. However, anyone hoping to add a touch of nostalgia to their new shirt will be disappointed.
Notifications in the store reveal that due to “licensing restrictions,” the club cannot print the names of iconic number 7 Eric Cantona, David Beckham, or Cristiano Ronaldo.
Club sources have confirmed that United does not own the former player’s trademark and therefore does not have the right to print the name or license, Manchester Evening News reports.
Sources say this has been the case for several years now, not recently.

They added that Real Madrid is reportedly prohibited from printing the name of Cristiano Ronaldo, another icon of the Bernabéu, as well as the same scenario, they said.
Several supporters expressed surprise at the rule.
“It’s really weird,” one United fan commented about the X.
Third question: “What if I called my son Beckham and he wanted his name on his shirt?”
The fourth is “How can you get copyright to names lol I’m sure there are more people who have those names.”
United will launch a league campaign against Arsenal at Old Trafford on August 17th. Before that, they concluded their tour with Everton before facing Fiorentina the following weekend.
So far, fans have been able to get two new names on the back of the shirt, with Matthews Kuña and Brian Mbeumo strengthening the ranks of Reuben Amorim.
But the Portuguese coach wants more before the windows close. The central striker is still on his wish list.
